Ayrton Senna leading Nigel Mansel at The Monaco Grand Prix 1991, on his way to win the Race.
Nigel Mansel was second with Jean Alesi third.
The MP4/6 Mclaren was such an iconic looking car and was also the last F1 car to win the Championship with a Manual gearbox, also with a V12 Engine!
Senna went on to win The Monaco Grand Prix 6 times!
I wanted to paint a Monaco scene at the Casino bend, with the colours, iconic building and the blue sky it’s everything that The Monaco Grand Prix is to me.
Senna and Mansel had some epic battles and to capture this bit of history in a painting was very enjoyable.
